This shorter tour is the perfect addition to any Yukon + Alaska holiday visiting the Kluane and the Wrangell-St Elias National Parks and a trip aboard the Prince William Sound ferry.
Overnight in Haines Junction and visit Kluane National Park a UNESCO listed world Heritage Site home to Canada’s tallest mountain and the worlds largest glacier outside of the North and South poles. Enjoy a short hike in the park or take an optional plane or helicopter flight seeing tour.
Drive the scenic shores of the huge Lake Kluane on the way to visit the Sheep Mountain visitors centre and to see a sled dog demonstration in Tok.
From Tok drive the Glen Highway to the majestic Wrangell-St Elias National Park and cross the mountains via the Thompson Pass on your way to the tiny town of Valdez know locally as the little Switzerland and the end of the Trans Alaka pipeline.
Take the Prince William Sound ferry to Whittier past the mighty Columbia Glacier and see icebergs calving, seals, whales puffins and much more.. From Whittier we visit the Portage Glacier and drive along the Turnagain Arm to Anchorage where the next day is free for you to explore or take one of the many available optional tours.
